NoriTerms of Service

1. Service
Nori (the “App”) is a Japanese and Chinese learning service provided by Nori Studio (the “Company”). Song playback, lyrics, translations, saving words, reviews, Today’s study, and courses are free and can be used without ads. When you reach the daily limit for games, you may watch a rewarded ad (Google Mobile Ads) to increase the number of plays, only if you choose to, and only non-personalized ads are shown. Songs are played through YouTube and Apple Music, and the Company does not store or distribute music.
The App plays videos using YouTube API Services. By playing a YouTube video in the App, you are deemed to agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. YouTube may place ads in videos, and the Google Privacy Policy applies to information processed during playback.
2. Accounts
You can study without signing in. If you sign in with a Google, Apple, or Kakao account, your study records are kept in your account. You can delete your account and records at any time with “Delete account” in the App.
3. Nori Plus (paid subscription)
- Nori Plus is an auto-renewing subscription. There are products that unlock one language, Japanese or Chinese, and products that unlock both languages together, and the price and period of each product are shown on the App’s purchase screen and in the store before payment. Payment is made through the App Store or Google Play, and the amount shown by the store at the time of payment is charged. Product changes, such as switching from a one-language product to a two-language product, follow the store’s subscription change process.
- Unless you cancel, the subscription renews automatically at the interval and price the store has shown. You cancel in your device’s store subscription settings (iOS: Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions; Android: Google Play › Payments & subscriptions). If you do not want it to renew, please cancel before the deadline the store indicates.
- A free trial converts to a paid subscription when it ends. For an Apple free trial, you must cancel at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid renewal. Even if you cancel a paid subscription, you can use Plus features until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the App or your account does not cancel your subscription.
- Free features remain free whether or not you subscribe. In the courses for the languages you subscribe to, Plus removes the daily limits on practice rounds and new sets and provides voice packs by level and study analysis; in the Japanese course, it also provides unlimited speaking and the JLPT full mock exam sets.
4. Refunds
Because payments are processed by the store, refunds also follow the store’s policies and procedures (App Store: reportaproblem.apple.com; Google Play: request a refund from your purchase history). The Company follows the store’s refund decisions and does not issue separate refunds outside the store. Rights of withdrawal provided by law are not limited by these Terms.
5. Content and rights
Example sentences, mock exam questions, articles, illustrations, lyric readings, and timing data created by the Company may be used within the App for learning purposes. The terms of use shown in the App’s license notices apply to external dictionaries, kanji data, and similar materials. The rights to lyrics and videos belong to their respective rights holders, and if a rights holder requests it, the song is removed within 24 hours.
6. Liability
Mock exam estimated scores and pass chances are estimates and do not guarantee real test results. The App is not affiliated with the JLPT organizers. The liability of the Company and users for damages arising from use of the service is governed by applicable law.
7. Changes
When we change these Terms, we announce it in the App’s notices and on this page 7 days in advance. If the subscription price changes, we notify you in advance and obtain your consent according to the procedures set by the store.
